In nine hours time at the stroke of midnight Johnny Waldron convicted killer of Mrs Cornelia Fielding will be executed. The condemned man made a last request to see the great detective Nick Carter in an attempt for a last minute reprieve. Waldron pleads for Carters help to discover the true murderer and to find the Fielding jewels that have been missing since the crime. He tells Nick that he knows there is no hope for him but he hopes that one day his wife will not have to live with the shame. He wants Nick Carter to one day prove that he is innocent for his wife’s sake.
