It's New Years Eve, Leroy is excited because he's going out to his first New Year party away from home. Gildy however is not one for going partying, he'd rather spend the night at home with one girl - Irene Henshaw. His niece Marjorie phones up and when Irene comments that he's been a great uncle raising a family when his sister passed away Gildy reflects back on the good times. and even has a dream about what the future might bring for Leroy.
