Today is the day that Abner leaves for the county seat to learn how to operate the new motion picture projection machine. Lum is staying in Pine Ridge to push along the work on the proposed theater. As we look in on the little community today, we find Grandpappy Spears, Cedric and Lum in the store and library, having just said goodbye to Abner who is leaving on the mail hack for the county seat.
