The first edition of The Clarion created an uproar in Silver City. Tonto listened to the talk in all of the cafes, and after obtaining a copy of the newspaper, rode out of town to the camp where the Lone Ranger was waiting. The editor of the newspaper was Rex Taylor, who used to be an editor in Dodge City, and is renowned for always speaking the truth. This time, it's about corruption which goes all the way to the judicial system, and includes the land commissioner, who he believes knows the date land open to prospectors is to become available, but who is keeping that information to himself in order to file on all the choice claims.
