There was a wire down in front of Old Mrs Ivy Fenner’s house so Dr Christian went round to warn her but was concerned to discover her house was so cold and she had nothing to burn and hadn’t had any cooked food in ages since they turned the gas off. It seemed Mrs Fenner was very poor but too proud to ask for any help.
