This weeks curious adventure is Nine Hours To Live or Nick Carter and the Death House Mystery. In nine hours time at the stroke of midnight Johnny Waldron the killer convicted for the murder of Mrs Cornelius Fielding will go to the chair. Just thirty minutes ago the condemned man made a last dramatic request to see the great detective Nick Carter. Johnny knows he hasn’t got a chance of a reprieve but he knows he can go easier if one day the world will know that he was innocent. Johnny tells Nick he doesn’t know where the Fielding jewels are as he didn’t do that job. He asks Nick Carter if after he is gone he can work in his spare time to prove that they have executed the wrong man for the sake of his wife Laura.
