Sergeant Preston rode along the trail toward White Horse with the great dog, Yukon King, running along side. It was Spring, and the thaw had brought a great deal of activity to the great north west country. Suddenly, Preston heard a distant shot, and stopped for a moment to listen, before heading off up the trail where they found  figure lying on the ground, and a horse grazing nearby...
