My Sister Eileen is a comedy starring Shirley Booth in her original Broadway role as Ruth Sherwood. Ruth is a writer and her sister Eileen an aspiring actress. They move to New York in order to further their careers and end up living in a dismal basement apartment in Greenwich Village, where a parade of odd characters are constantly breezing in and out.
