Madison High School instituted a course in automobile driving a short time ago and our Miss Brooks who teaches English there was put in charge. She's had over a week to get used to her new duties but she still isn't very happy about them!  

Walter Denton is the manager of the Madison School orchestra and this week it is the music festival at Oakhurst where bands from all over the state compete for a silver cup. Walter enlists Miss Brooks help as the principal Mr Conklin insists on going on the trip and playing his tuba in the band even though faculty members are not allowed to partake. Mr Conklin thinks he can get in on a technicality but Walter fears they will have no chance of winning if Mr Conklin plays his tuba.
