Hearing a song at a wedding made Mary Larkin faint. She told Dr Christian she hadn’t heard the song for years and she used to play it on the music box. Mary asks Dr Christian if he had ever heard of Magda Lupina an opera singer who sang all over Europe fifty years ago. She then recounts the story of how Magda fell in love with a prince and how the love could never be and she reveals that she is Magda who fled to obscurity in America, a great singer who has not sung for twenty years mourning her lost love.

Jean Hersholt is supported by American opera singer Rosemarie Brancato and her wonderful operatic singing.

If you like opera you will love this episode.
