Think how hard it is to be a baby... Helpless is the word for it. unable to stand, sit, walk, or even turn over. Unable to distinguish one object from another. Only light from dark. Unable to comprehend what is said to you. Unable to convey your own feelings except with moans, gurgles and crying. Unconscious of everything really, except your own, very private person.
