No one knew better than Eddie Stacco that it would take a miracle to save him this time. He’d been up on murder counts before but this was going to be the toughest one he’d ever face. The prosecution had drawn all the high cards, his old friend District Attorney Matthews had sworn to get him and Matthews would never let this one slip through his fingers in a million years. Yes it would take a miracle and Eddie was smart enough to recognise it but it was only by grace of luck of a brilliant lawyer that he was out on bail with only two weeks to the formal indictment.
