Lieutenant Walt Levinson stops by to tell Richard the news that a punk named Smiley Brill had shot one of their cops. The cop that had been shot was Ben Johnson who had helped Richard Diamond a lot when he was a young rookie cop. Diamond was sad to hear the news and agrees to help find Smiley Brill but feared that he wouldn’t be able to bring him in alive.
