Three brothers have a spell cast upon them by a wicked witch because they will not sell or give her their spring for her own wicked uses. The brothers have been turned in to the form of half man, half warty frog. They visit the nymph of the oak who tells them a riddle, which they must understand and follow if they are to be set free of the spell.The loving kindness of Melilot finally breaks the spell and the three brothers are transformed.
