Mary of Scotland

It is Scotland in the sixteenth century, and in the city of Leith on a dark pier on a dark night, a crowd of men and women are stood, stamping their feet and blowing on their fingers to keep warm, awaiting the arrival of the ship from France, which is to bring their Queen to them. They do not speak, and they move about the pier with the stiffness of those who are cold and none too joyous... This is the story of Mary, Queen of Scots, her downfall, and her difficult relationship with Queen Elizabeth. **Quality Warning** The audio has a fault at the beginning, but this clears up after five minutes or so.
