The great Gildersleeve and his niece Marjorie have become very attached to the baby when Judge Hooker suggests that they legally adopt the baby. However he informs them to adopt a child you have to be married. Marjorie decides she will marry Ben so that they can adopt the baby but at 16 Gildy is rightly against Marjorie getting married. Maybe he should be the one to get married!
