The dictionary defines the word tourist as one who makes a tour, a traveler, one who goes from place to place learning new ways of life and seeing new things. To many of us, the word has a romantic quality, we envy the lucky globetrotter, just as Liz and Henry Briggs envied the tourists who passed through the tourist house and gas station they owned just off the big state highway just off the rim of Death Valley. But such envy can lead to strange goings-on, can't it?
