The favorite story you are about to hear is something you will never forget. A woman who is a keen judge of unforgettable stories, the co-director of the Theater Guild, Miss Teresa Helburn, chose it for you.

It is the poignant story of the unfortunate Philip Nolan a young American Lieutenant who forfeited his right to have a home or a country. Although the story is historical fiction it is based on events and characters at the time of the civil war.

Touchingly patriotic the part of Philip Nolan is excellently portrayed by John Beal. Be prepared to be moved to tears.

Written by: Edward Everett Hale (1863)
