Chester is in a rush to tell Marshall Matt Dillon that someone is in town looking for him. Chester thinks the man is after killing Matt but it is Tobin a special deputy from California and he is after Jess Ricker who he says is wanted for stage hold-up and murder and he believes he is in Dodge. Jess Ricker has been in Dodge for the last two weeks and there’s no charge against Ricker in Dodge but Tobin is too stubborn to give Marshall Matt Dillon the warrant so he can help.
