King saves young Jimmy’s puppy dog Mabel from drowning after he went through the ice on the river. Mabel is a naughty little puppy who keeps burying Jimmy’s pa’s mittens but Mabel saves the day when he digs up a mitten which some bad guys have hidden some grubstake papers in to stop Jimmy’s pa claiming his rightful stake in their gold claim.
