When Lum and Abner turned all of their hogs over to Squire Skimp to sell for them they neglected to get a receipt. Now the old fellows are at the mercy of the Squire. The hogs have been shipped to Chicago and other northern markets and the boys have no way of knowing how much money is due to them from the sale.
