Yesterday was the last day in the contest in which the public was asked to elect the president for Lum and Abner’s new store. Squires Skimp, Abner’s campaign manager and who is practically interested in the outcome of the election has demanded an official count of the votes sent in. And so as we look in on Pine Ridge today we Lum and Abner waiting in the front part of the store while Dick Huddleston, Grandpappy Spears and Squire Skimp are back in the feed room making a final count of the votes.
