Abner is in the Jot 'Em Down store talking to Grandpappy Spiers telling him that Lum was at the Ladies Aid meeting giving a talk to them. He's trying to find a house for Foster Childers and his family to move in to after they were kicked out of the Dixon's place they were renting. But Grandpappy wants to know what Lum is doing about raising the three hundred dollars he still owes for the piano.
