Luigi is excited about going to the Opera to see William Montgomery and when he tells his friend Pasquale he learns that Pasquale knew him when he was a boy. Pasquale calls him the ungrateful Serafeto Camaniti, which is his real name. He tells Luigi that his mama and papa live in the neighborhood. Luigi goes to see Mr and Mrs Caminati and is sad to discover that their son hasn't left them tickets for the opening night at the opera. Kind hearted Luigi gets them the best tickets he can afford and lets them believe that they are from their son.
