This is a tale for the romantic at heart which sees Joseph Cotten reprising his 1945 Paramount Film role as Alan Quinton. 

In Italy during the war Alan Quinton agrees to write love letters for awkward writer Officer Roger Moorland to a girl he met at a dance in England named Victoria. 

Alan had written her so many letters and she never knew but he was falling in love with her and she in love with the letters. Alan is heartbroken to find that Roger Moorland and Victoria are married but then some years later he learns that she had killed her husband with a knife, spent some time in prison and suffered with memory loss of her tragic life. By chance some time later destiny brings Alan and Victoria together.
