In this comedy romance Steve Layton is a reporter who tries to get a scoop for his newspaper by meeting heiress Toni Gates at the airport and pretending to work for the airline to protect her from the press. When the other reporters get near he makes a quick exit but once she finds out she foils him by giving the reporters a scoop on him. She tells them that she is engaged to Steve Layton and has given him a dowry of a million dollars. Oh dear what  great scoop but not for Steve Layton's paper.
