Mabel Melrose, Pine Ridge's newest citizen and surrealist painter, is now happily living and starving in Abner's attic. Abner's not particularly happy about this arrangement, but Lum is beaming with love from the joy of living and the wonders of the artistic world. As we look in on the little community today, we find Abner and Cedric putting up the screen door at the store and library.
