Martin Dullivan is on his way home from college after being thrown out. How is he going to tell his Father, and worst still how will his ogre of a Stepmother react? He phones from the station before setting off to the house, but there is no response. When he arrives at the house he finds the phone off the hook and his Stepmother lying dead on the bed from a broken neck. He calls the police and tells them that he has just murdered his Stepmother … but why would he confess to a murder that he couldn't have committed?
