Doctor Christian receives a phone call from Lydia Parker. She has just arrived in Rivers End from Chicago with her twin sister Lucy. 

Lydia explains to Dr Christian that Lucy is not well and reminds Dr Christian of the odd things that she does and the queer ideas that she has that have been going on for years. She tells Dr Christian that Lucy Lies and imagines silly dreadful things. 

Dr Christian thinks it is strange as he doesn't remember Lucy having any such traits and he wants to see her alone without her sister there.
