The tine vinery on the main street was called The Heart of Gold but the title bore little if any reference to the people who ate there, the miners, local merchants and people like Hal Bennett. Perhaps the Heart of Gold held something more for Hal Bennett, he was there regularly enough, e Every time he came in to town from the mine in the back country. Hal’s partner Walter Eves was interested only in the mail and supplies but for Hal, tall young and good looking there just might have been another attraction…
