It was press day at the City News and Inky the 14-year-old adopted son of editor Tom Benn was busy sweeping the floor of the office. Tom’s wife Hilda worked at a nearby desk while Tom himself labored in the back room to keep the press working. Inky looked up from his sweeping as Tonto walked into the office.
