Perhaps the greatest hero of the Crimean War to come down through history was the heroine, The Lady of the Lamp Florence Nightingale. This story tells of Florence Nightingales determination to become a nurse against the wishes of her family of her desire to make the world a better place for mankind. She takes 38 nurses to Crimea to assist in the care of the wounded and give hope to the brave wounded soldiers who without her would probably never have lived to see British soil again.
