Claire Gordon confesses to Simon Teplar that she has murdered her husband. He doesn’t believe or disbelieve her but can think of no reason why she would come to him to confess about it. She leaves as hastily as she arrived and shortly after a man rings Simon Templar’s doorbell, it is James Gordon, very alive and he wants to know why his wife was just there.
