In order to make a hero of himself and regain the confidence of his fellow townsmen Lum arranged to have his old friend Abner kidnapped a plan Abner reluctantly agreed to. Last night they left a note on Abner’s pillow stating that he had been kidnapped and was being held for a $50 ransom. Today we find him hiding over at Lum’s house where he’s to stay until Lum deems it the proper time to stage his rescue. News of the kidnapping has spread like wild fire.
