The show opens with an introduction from host Don Ameche for conductor Werner Janssen who leads the orchestra in the top tune of the day entitled Carelessly. Next comes ventriloquist Edgar Bergan with his wooden creation Charlie McCarthy followed by Jose Iturbi who is one of the great pianists of the day.
Josephine Hutchinson whose many outstanding performances in the New York Theater won her an immediate place among the brightest stars in pictures is here tonight to play the part of Kitty Vane in their version of Dark angel.
