Lamont Cranston and his faithful assistant, Margo Lane, are out searching for Joey, the little newsboy. They want to take Joey on their annual tour in the toy section of the major high street department stores. When they get to Joey's house they hear someone moaning in the attic. They rush upstairs and find Mr. Murphy, the richest man in Joey's neighborhood unconscious on the floor. He has been hit on the head, but by who?
