Jack Randall was one of many who failed in the search for gold in the Klondike. he came to Dawson and took possession of a crude shack until he could find work to provide a better home for his wife and one year old son but hard luck dogged his trail. In desperation he broke a safe and stole money and constable Matson was on his trail.
