A small boat drifts helplessly down a fogbound river directly in the path of a steamship. Jerry Browning, private detective was on that boat and almost killed. He was rescued and ended on the steamship on the way to South America. It would be six weeks before anyone would know he was still alive. When he does finally get back on familiar territory he discovers some thing strange a wonderful going on.
