Mr. Adams has called on Mr. Parker to renew his fire insurance though after three years of insurance without any need Mr. Parker has taken the decision not to renew. Mr. Adams is quite surprised but makes it clear that the building and the valuable equipment in it will not be covered from noon that day. Meanwhile Parkers partner approaches Blackie desperate for money as his wife is making demands on him and he fears she will leave him. The only thing of value he has is half ownership in the building and the equipment inside.
