The four men had been chosen to work in a scientific post named as Project Adam. They were chosen to work on the machine as each of them was found to be the top most personnel in their own field. Freeman was the only one of them who asked questions about the machine they were building, concerned with good reason as to the consequence of building and testing the potential of the machine.
