For some time now Jack had the feeling that his life and the Laramie’s was on collision course and that if he kept on the affair with Anne one or all of them was sure to get hurt. This evening as he arrived at their house he had an ominous certainty that the crash was close. It was speeded up when Howard Laramie persuaded him to take a mental telepathy drug he had been experimenting on and Howard knew he was planning on killing him.
