Amos Cartwright was an Indian Scout and he was the only man that survived an ambush by Comanche. Bailey’s brother was one of the men that were killed and he vowed that he was going to kill Amos Cartwright believing that he led the men in to the ambush. Amos Cartwright was a good man but Bailey believed he was a Comanche himself as he had lived with them and married one of them. Marshall Matt Dillon hoped that Bailey would cool down when he saw reason.

At the end of the show William Conrad announces that Gunsmoke is going on Television from September 10th (1955) at 10:00pm Eastern Time.
