Joyce is awoken in the middle of the night to hear the sounds of a screaming woman outside. Her husband, George tells her to go back to seep but she cant bear it and gets up and looks out of the window. She sees a man attacking a woman and wants her husband to call the police. He is reluctant to get involved even after  the police arrive and tell them a woman has been murdered. Joyce is wracked with guilt for not helping the police and is living in fear that the the killer will come for her next.
