Leaving Ginge alone by the cave to guard Zoratov, Biggles makes his way to Tom who is waiting for Algy and Bertie on the coast. Then, the two of them skirt around the sea board to the bay on which the yacht and submarine are lying at anchor. The search parties are still well inland, but their way is barred by a single armed guard, on the deck of the sub, sitting on the box containing the papers Biggles desperately needs.
