Harvey Stone is in his late thirties, a bachelor and wealthy member of the Stone Enterprises & Corporation family business. He lives in New York and last night he was driving along a road in the country when a small object hit his windshield. It wouldn’t normally need Johnny Dollar to investigate but on this occasion that small object was a bullet.

North Eastern Indemnity Insurance Company had insurance cover on Harvey Stone for over $100,000. It could have simply been a stray bullet but North Eastern wanted Johnny Dollar to make sure Harvey remained alive.
