Martha's husband Gabriel set sail from Galilee 4 years ago and she and her daughter Sarah have not seen him since. She never gives up greeting boats at the post in the hope that her husband will return. Ezra loves Martha and especially more because of her loyalty to her husband but martha will not marry him as she believes her husband will return one day. When she is finally ready to give up all hope of her husband returning she hears the Master speak and her faith is restored and she realizes she must not give up hope as it is faith that makes all things possible.
