Johnny Dollar is hired by the insurance company of Horace Lockhart to investigate the circumstances of his death. Lockhart and his wife were both killed in a car accident, and the insurance company needs to determine who died first in order to determine the beneficiary of the life insurance policy. He soon realizes that the case is not as simple as it seems. There are conflicting accounts of the accident, and it is possible that Lockhart's wife may have been murdered. It's now a race against time to solve the mystery before the insurance company makes a payout. If he can't find out who died first, the wrong person could end up with the insurance payout.
