September at the Bar-20 like all cattle ranches is a happy month for the line riders, the lonely cowboys whose duty it is to patrol the boundaries of the ranch and to see to it that the stock stays on the reservation. It’s a happy time because it marks the end of the season for them and the friendly atmosphere of the ranch house just around the corner.
