It is shortly after dawn on the morning of April 4th 1947. Carter is driving away from his small ranch in Texas when suddenly he sees a man at the side of the road thumbing a ride, so he pulls over and offers him a lift. When he arrives in town he is informed by one of the townsfolk that someone has escaped from prison. Could it be the hitch-hiker?
