The Lone Ranger and Tonto were galloping along the mountain trail, when suddenly the keen eyes of the masked man saw a prone figure on the ground. The man was lying at the edge of the trail, and he was dead, with a bullet through the heart. He must have been on horseback, but the horse would have been spooked and run away. As they search for the identity of the man, they discover that he was an United States Deputy Marshall, named John Evans, sent to assist the lawlessness in the town of Redstone.
